Notice of Intention to Alter the Boundaries 
of the City of Yorkton

The reason for the proposed alteration is at the request of the owner to allow for development and to access City water and sewer services. Any person may file a written objection to the proposed alteration at the office of the City Clerk on or before October 22, 2003. If an objection is received, the Council will hold a Public Meeting to hear all persons who wish to make representations relevant to the proposed alteration.

Parks Department News

  
City Garden Plots: 
For those people who have garden plots in the Tupper & Yorkdale city plot areas, all garden produce must be cleared by October 1st as the plots are slated for tilling after the end of September. There is a compost pile at the Yorkdale garden plot site where plot renters can dispose of their garden material. The Parks Department would like to thank all the renters for their co-operation.

Weed Control: 
Fall time is an excellent time for weed control. City crews will be out on weed control typically on sports fields over the next couple of weeks. Areas will be posted. Trail pathways in Parks will be tilled where possible as opposed to being sprayed. Tilling of trails will make the trails a bit soft. Thanks for your co-operation with the program.

Tree Pruning:
City crews will be out and about with the ongoing low-level tree-pruning program. Low-level tree pruning consists of removing any adventitious branches and removing branches overhanging the sidewalks. High-level pruning is done through contract work. Elm trees can be pruned from now until mid April. Also, remember to take a look at your back lane and make sure the hedge or over hanging trees are not encroaching onto the back lane. If the trees/hedge are on your property and overhanging the back lane, they are your responsibility.
  

Water Discolouration

  
Due to numerous water projects and street repairs presently being undertaken by the City, residents may notice some water discoloration at various times and locations. The City of Yorkton regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
