Pioneer Ways & Bygone Days
The tour book Pioneer Ways & Bygone Days based on information from the records of the City of Yorkton Archives, provides a close-up look of the old town centre of Yorkton. It was made possible by a grant from the Saskatchewan Council for Archives & Archivists.
Yorkton had a strong corporate history since 1882, having been settled under the leadership of the York Farmers' Colonization Company of Toronto. Once the railway came to the new Yorkton site in 1891, it prospered quickly. This prosperity is evident in the remaining commercial buildlings and the stories of the commercial bygone days.
Folks are welcomed to takethe tour or to buy the book for an "arm-chair" visit.
