Bonnie Rushowick

My name is Bonnie Rushowick and I am a candidate for Yorkton for the board of Good Spirit School Division. My husband and I have lived in Yorkton and raised our 3 here since 1982. We have seen them through elementary school and celebrated as they graduated from the Yorkton Regional High School. I am a registered nurse who has been on the board since 1998. I am proud to have been part of the creation of Good Spirit School Division.

I believe all children can learn and I hold high expectations for all students because I believe high expectations are critical to student success. The school board has a role to ensure students have quality staff teaching them and safe environments in which to learn and the resources they need to succeed. As a member of the board I will work with parents and community to ensure our public schools foster our children’s development beyond academics because schools must also contribute to development of character, creativity, resourcefulness, citizenship, an understanding of workplace expectations, respect for diverse cultures, and a lifelong love of learning.

I believe in the need for good financial stewardship .As a member of the board I will continue to carry out my responsibilities to ensure the board decisions have a strong financial basis.

I am committed to work for the best education that is possible for all our children.  A dedicated committed board and quality staff working with our parents and community. I ask for your support and thank you for considering me for election to the board of the Good Spirit School Division.
